Blazin Cowgirl 123 Breaks Her Maiden With Fastest Time To The Ron Cook Wyoming-Bred Futurity


Blazin Cowgirl 123 wins her trial heat and clocks the fastest qualifying time to the $90,000 estimated Ron Cook Wyoming-bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs on Sunday.

EVANSTON, WY–JUNE 9, 2024–58 two-year-old accredited Wyoming breds vied for a spot from seven trials on Sunday to the $90,000 estimated Ron Cook Wyoming-bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs.


From trial #2, Blazin Cowgirl 123 sets the time to beat in :16.950 seconds, clocking an 89 speed index. The post-time favorite hit her stride mid stretch of the 300-yard race with Jesus Canales in the pilot's seat. The 3/4-length victory over Flashy Version paid $3.80 to win on 4/5 odds.


The daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 broke her maiden in her trial victory today from her first career start. The sorrel filly out of Blazin Mean by First Moonflash won $3,600 for the effort. Trainer Sergio Canales saddled her for owner/breeder Pedro Mena.


De Nasty, ridden by Minor Arana, won the last trial of the day by an impressive 1 1/4-lengths. The daughter of Glock flew from the gates, leading the field from wire to wire and clocking an 89 speed index in :16.951 seconds, just 1/1000ths of second off of the fastest time. The slight upset paid $9.20 to win on 7/2 odds.


De Nasty also broke her maiden in her first career start, adding the $3,600 payout to her earnings. Steve Berry and Abelardo Gonzalez own and bred the sorrel filly out of Ashleys Dynasty by FDD Dynasty.
