Eye On The Card defeating Cyber Attack in the $1-Million Rainbow QH Futurity(G1) Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino.


RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 24, 2022–Eye On The Card dueled fastest qualifier Cyber Attack early before pulling away to a three-quarter length win in the $1,000,000 Grade 1 Rainbow QH Futurity Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino.

Under jockey Juan Pulido, the son of leading third-crop sire DOCS BEST CARD, completed the 400 yards in :19.419 seconds, with the 7 mph tailwind, to earn a 101 speed index. It was the fourth win in five career starts for the Oklahoma-Bred colt.

"I feel so lucky and blessed," Pulido said in the winner’s circle. "I never thought that I would have this opportunity and then to be standing here—it’s amazing."

Racing for owner Omar Hernandez and trained by Santos Carrizales, Jr., Eye On The Card also won the FL Lady Bug Stakes(RG3) earlier this year. His only loss has been a third-place effort, behind his stablemates, in the $973,665 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1) on April 16.

Efrain Mendez bred the bay colt from the stakes winning and multiple stakes producing Mr Eye Opener mare Johns Party Girl. His $420,000 Rainbow payday increased his earnings to $582,561.

Cyber Attack, a $400,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, earned back $180,000 of his purchase price with his second-place effort today. Christopher O'Dell conditions the Favorite Cartel colt for owner Rosenthal Ranch LLC. Eduardo Nicasio had the riding call.

Bred in California by Steve D. Burns, DVM, Cyber Attack is a full sibling to three Grade 1 winners. His dam is Ruidoso QH Derby(G1) winner Remember Me Rose, by Corona Cartel. She is also the dam of Ruidoso QH Futurity(G1) winner Cyber Monday.

Getthere Fast scored his second Grade 1 placing with his third-place Rainbow finish for owner Simmons Racing. The son of champion/champion sire Tempting Dash was second in the Grade 1 Ruidoso QH Futurity on June 12.

The $100,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling repurchase is trained by Toby Keeton and ridden by jockey Bryan Candanosa. Bred in Texas by JCJ Racing, from the Fantastic Corona, Jr. mare Get There, Getthere Fast has earned $301,450 off three wins in five starts.

Fearless Moon, Hes Judgendjury, Curls Joyful Wagon, El Gran Ferrari, Chasing AJ, Made The Cut and A Lucky Ladie completed the Rainbow QH Futurity(G1) field.
