DOUGLAS, AZ–MARCH 23, 2022–Df Fabulous Rouge got his first career win today when he defeated Yn Laurita Garza by a nose while setting the fastest time for the Partnership (Not Black Type) at the Cochise County Fair.
The eight fastest qualifiers, from the three trials races contested today for 3-year-old & up maidens at time of entry, will return to the Douglas, Arizona racetrack on Sunday, May 8th to contest the $20,000-added final going 330 yards.
Under jockey Aaron Belloc, Df Fabulous Rouge took a slight lead early then dueled gamely to complete the 330 yards in :17.147 seconds, a 92 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. It was the first win in seven career starts for the son of a leading third-crop sire One Fabulous Eagle.
Vanessa Marquez conditions the 4-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding for owner Stephanie Maire Ortega. Darling Farms bred Df Fabulous Rouge from the First Down Dash mare Like A Gift. The bay gelding has banked $8,989.
