Royals Vista Stallions Sire Two Finalists To $88,200 Gillespie County Fair Derby

Leading second-crop sire One Fabulous Eagle got another stakes finalist on Sunday.

FREDRICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 15, 2021—Leading second-crop sire of winners ONE FABULOUS EAGLE and multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES each sired a finalist to the $88,200 Gillespie County Fair Derby on Sunday afternoon at Gillespie County Fairground.

In the second trial DF Fabulous Maiden was moved to first after Jess A Candy Rogue broke in at the start and was disqualified and placed ninth. DF Fabulous Maiden's time of :17,.43 seconds was the fifth fastest on the day. Alvin Francis, Jr. trains the daughter of leading second-crop sire of winners' One Fabulous Eagle for owner Karina Alvarado Rodriguez.

Luis Vivanco rode the Oklahoma-bred out of Coronas Ice Maiden by Wave Carver. Bred by Darling Farms, the ONE FABULOUS EAGLE filly was a finalist in the Remington Park Juvenile and the Easy Jet Stakes last season at Remington Park. She has earned $37,870.

In just his first official start, Jb Chapter Eleven qualified for the $88,200 Gillespie County Fair Derby with a fourth place finish in Sunday's opening trial. Trainer Salvador Flores named jockey Mauro Salcedo to ride the IVORY JAMES gelding for owner Jaime Bujanda.


Marcy Strickland Bentley bred the brown gelding in Texas from the Finding Nemo mare Spectacular Sara.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Gillespie County Fairground on Saturday, August 28th to vie for a winner's purse valued at $30,870. Last place will earn more than $4,400.
