Ivory James 2-Year-Old Qualifies For $137,100 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity

Ivory James sired Nvincable, a finalist to the $137,100 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park Wednesday.

SHAKOPOEE, MN—JULY 28, 2021—Nvincable, a son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES, qualified  Wednesday evening while setting the fifth fastest time for the Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park.

The 10 fastest, from 33 head of 2-year-old Quarter Horses who participated in four trials races, will return to Canterbury Park on Wednesday, August 11th to vie for the winner's share of $137,100 purse going 350 yards.

Under jockey Luis Valenzuela, Nvincable ducked in at the start but still finished second in the last trial to Ture to record the fifth fastest time of :18.333 seconds into a 40 mph headwind. The bay gelding broke his maiden at Canterbury in June 22nd and was 3rd in an allowance there on July 15th. He has earned $14,142 in four starts.

Trainer Jason Olmstead conditions the Oklahoma-bred 2-year-old for owner-breeder Brenda Reiswig. The homebred it out of Valiant Red Vixen by Valiant Hero.

On Tuesday (July 27), IVORY JAMES, sired Whisky James, fourth fastest qualifier for the $50,000-added Ontario Bred Derby at Ajax Downs.

Ridden by jockey Helen Vanek, Whiskey James clocked :15.544 seconds for the 300 yards to qualify for owner Anna Rosiak.  Jason Pascoe trains the Ontario homebred from the Holland Ease mare Easily Holland. Guylaine Paquin in the breeder.

Whiskey James was a finalist in the Ontario Bred Futurity last year and has earned $15,541.
