HOUSTON, TX—JULY 9, 2021—Nine trials for the $435,910 TQHA Sale Futurity(RG2) took place at Sam Houston Race Park on Friday, July 9 with many exceptional performances.
One of those performances came from Ivory Royale, a son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES, who raced to a 1-½ length win in the second trial to qualify for the rich final. Under jockey Victor Urieta, Jr., Ivory Royale covered the 350 yards in :17.924 seconds.
Trainer Juan Diaz, Jr. conditions the Texas-bred gelding for owner Oscar Rios, Jr. Rios purchased Ivory Royale for $12,000 from breeder Bobby Myers at the 2020 TQHA Yearling Sale in San Antonio, Texas. Ivory Royale is out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Rhia La Jolla.
Ivory Royale finished fourth in his career debut, a trial for the Sam Houston Futurity(G2) May 8th, then returned 12 days later win a $27,000 Maiden 2-YearOld Texas Bred 350 yard race at Sam Houston. He earned a 95 speed index while completing 300 yards in :15.596. In three starts this season he has earned $25,950.
