Babes Fabulous Eagle Qualifies For Eye On Corona Derby

One Fabulous Eagle sired Eye On Corona Derby qualifier Babes Fabulous Eagle.

SOUTH JORDAN, UT—MAY 16, 2021—Babes Fabulous Eagle, a 3-year-old son of last year's leading first-crop sire of winners ONE FABULOUS EAGLE, qualified in the second of two trials contested Sunday for the Eye On Corona Derby at Laurel Brown Racetrack.

Saddled by leading trainer Monty Arrossa, Babes Fabulous Eagle posted the 7th fastest time of :17.709 seconds, a 94 speed index.  Ridden by jockey Cesar Moreno, the bay gelding was bumped at the start but recovered nicely to qualify.

Merlin Sharp purchased the 3-year-old's dam Gone Babie Gone, by Jess Zoomin, from Darling Farms in the 2017 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale. She was carrying Babe Fabulous Eagle at the time.

A finalist in the Grade 3 Bitterroot Futurity last year, Babes Fabulous Eagle has compiled a (6) 2-0-1 record and earned $16,451.

The 10 fastest qualifier's will return to Laurel Brown Racetrack on Saturday, May 29th to vie for the winner's share of the $24,715 purse going 350 yards.
