Mound Valley Eagle Posts Second-Fastest Time in Beehive Futurity Trials

Mound Valley Eagle set the second fastest time in the $70,470 Beehive Futurity trials at Laurel Brown Racetrack.


SOUTH JORDAN, UT—MAY 15, 2021—Stakes-placed Mound Valley Eagle rolled to his second win in three starts this season as he posted the second fastest time for the $70,470 Beehive Futurity on Saturday at Laurel Brown Racetrack.

The final will be held on May 29 and will feature a rematch of the top two finishers of the $107,869 Hadley-Giles Futurity earlier this month. Mound Valley Eagle will get another chance to face his nemesis, undefeated B The One who set the fastest time today in the final trial for the Beehive Futurity.

Mound Valley Eagle posted a time of :16.711 as the winner of the second trial and earned a 105 speed index in his impressive gate to wire victory.

Jesus Valenzuela rode Mound Valley Eagle for trainer Riley Moosman and owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen. The son of last year's leading first-crop sire of winners, ONE FABULOUS EAGLE, was bred in Idaho by Abigail Kawananakoa, out of Royalfooseperrypie, by Foose.

Mound Valley Eagle was the fastest qualifier to the April 17th Hadley-Giles Futurity trials and finished second to Be The One in the May 1st final.
