Mound Valley Eagle Top Qualifiers To $80,000-est. Hadley-Giles Futurity on Saturday

Weber Downs kicked off their 2021 live racing season today with 11 trials for the $80,000-est. Hadley-Giles Futurity.


OGDEN, UT—APRIL 17, 2021—Jockey Jesus Valenzuela rode the first of four qualifiers on Saturday when Mound Valley Eagle was a gate-to-wire winner the first of 11 trials for the $80,000-est. Hadley-Giles Futurity at Weber Downs.

The son of last year's leading first-crop sire of winners, ONE FABUOUS EAGLE, rolled to a 1-½ length win to set the bar at :15.577 seconds, a 98 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind for the 300 yards.

Trainer Riley Moosman conditions the Idaho-bred colt for owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen.  Abigail Kawanankoa bred Mount Valley Eagle from the Foose mare Royal Fooseperrypie.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Weber Downs on Saturday, May  1st to vie for the winner's share of the $80,000-est. purse.
