OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 2, 2021—San Lorenzo Tay, a son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES was a two-length winner in the eighth trial Friday night at Remington Park to secure the final qualifying spot on the first of two-nights of trials for the restricted Grade 1, $926,500 Remington Park Futurity for 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred Quarter Horses, going 330 yards.
Trainer Kelly Heltzel conditions the brown gelding for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Juan Pulido had the riding call on the 2-year-old out of the First Down Dash mare Shes Dashin First.
Breeder Bobby D. Cox sold San Lorenzo Tay in the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale for $69,000. The colt's name was changed to San Lorenzo Tay from Pivital following the sale.
