GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 28, 2020—After a bad break at the start, Instygator rallied to just miss winning the $1,031,211 Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity Saturday night at Lone Star Park, finishing a nose off Dulce Sin Tacha.
The son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES was second for the second consecutive time this season in a Grade 1 futurity final by less than a neck. Racing for owner Jose Guzman and trainer Santos Carrizales, Jr., Instygator increased his earnings to nearly $806,000 after pocketing $226,866 for second in the Texas Classic Futurity.
Bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox, from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Popping, Instygator was also second in Grade 1 $3,000,000 All American Futurity on Labor Day and third in the Grade 1 $826,260 Heritage Place Futurity last May.
Instygator, a $25,000 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale graduate, has compiled a (7) 4-2-1 record in 2020.
