WAYNE, OK—OCTOBER 6, 2020—On A New Note, a daughter of leading first-crop sire ONE FABULOUS EAGLE posted the second fastest qualifying time for the $100,000 Governors Stakes on Saturday at Indiana Grand.
The second fastest qualifier on the day came in the first trial under jockey Isidro. Trained by Jeff Yoder, On A New Note was on the winning end of a very close photo but prevailed on the inside of BP Fancy Lady and Erik Esqueda. The race was recorded in :18.372.
Owned by Brian Gunder, the Colorado-bred On a New Note, out of the Corona Cartel mare Corona Cerveza, was a $22,000 yearling purchase last fall from the Heritage Place September Sale. She was making her first start out of New Mexico in the Governor's Stakes Trials and now has four career starts with a win and two seconds.

Royal Vista Stallion Round-Up Week of October 2-5
In other Royal Vista stallion news for the week of October 2-5 Preyn Onthe Mountain, a daughter of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES, finished third in the $29,359 ARC Will Rogers Distaff Challenge Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.
Eddie D. Willis saddled the 5-year-old for owner Stetson Hurlbert. Dr. Steve Hurlbert bred the bay mare in Oklahoma from the Panther Mountain mare Prey. Justine Klaiber had the riding call.
In the $41,600 Cricket Bar Futurity on Saturday at Will Rogers Downs, Mike Vaughn's One Fabulous Tom finished third.
