Ivory James Gets Two Qualifiers To Bitterroot Derby

Ivory James sired two finalist in the $15,000-est. Bitterroot Derby on Friday (July 17) at Pocatello Downs.


POCATELLO, ID—JULY 20, 2020—Royals Vista's champion sire IVORY JAMES sired two finalists to the $15,000-est. Bitterroot Derby on Friday (July 17) at Pocatello Downs.

RTM Stables LLC's Rtm Good Enough posted the fourth fastest time of :20.007 seconds after finishing a close second to fastest qualifier Zoom On Jess in the second of two trials. Nakia Ramirez had the riding call on the IVORY JAMES filly for trainer Mark Hanson.

Bred in Idaho from the Chickie Cherry Cola mare Rtm Say Your Prayers, RTM Good Enough was a finalist in the Idaho Cup Futurity and the John Deere Pocatello Downs Juvenile Challenge last season.  Susan Hanson is the breeder.

Kelly and Kyle Cook's Vf Silverback got the sixth fastest time of :20.074 seconds while competing in the first trial. Jay Pitcher conditions the multiple stakes-placed son of IVORY JAMES from the Mr Jess Perry mare Perrys Folly. Victory Farms bred the gray gelding in Oklahoma.

Ridden by jockey Jose Guzman, Vf Silverback was third in the Eye On Corona Open Derby earlier this year and third in the Golden Spike Futurity at 2.

The 10 qualifiers will return to Pocatello Downs on Friday, July 31st to vie for the winner's share of the purse.
