Instygator Finishes Close Third In Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 31, 2020—Instygator, a 2-year-old son of leading sire IVORY JAMES, suffered his first loss in three starts this season when he finished a head and a neck off Grade 1 winner Shott Gun and Grade 2 winner Aint She Tempting in the $826,260 Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity at Remington Park Saturday night.

The brown gelding entered the race off back-to-back wins at Remington Park including an impressive 3 ¼ length trial victory on May 9. Racing for owner Jose Guzeman the 2-year-old earned $99,151 for his effort to push his career earnings mark to $115,241.

Trainer Jacobo Mejia named AQHA Racing champion jockey Ricky Ramirez to ride Instygator in the final. Bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox, Instygator is out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Popping, who is also the dam of 2020 Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Shott Gun.
