AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 1, 2019—Super consistent Had To Be Ivory posted a dominating 2-¾ length win while setting a new stakes record in the $43,947(US) Ontario Bred Maturity on Sunday at Ajax Downs.

Under regular rider Tony Phillips, Had To Be Ivory covered the 400 yards in :19.600 seconds, equaling a 108-speed index, to set a new stakes record. The 4-year-old son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES has compiled a (13) 11-2-0 record and today's winner's purse valued at $18,122(US) boosted his lifetime earnings total to $157,670.

Trainer Bryn Robertson conditions the bay gelding for owner-breeders Carol and Jaime Robertson. He is out of the Hadtobenuts mare Had To Be Fandango.

Heste Sport, Inc.'s Arising Miracle picked up $9,061(US) to push his earnings to nearly $70,000. The Ontario-homebred, out of Miracle Empress by Royal Miracle Dip, is trained by Jason Pascoe and was ridden by Cerapio Figueroa.

Multiple stakes winner Fiesty Icon was a head back for owner-trainer Richard W. Kennedy. Ed Walton rode the Sugarman Perry 7-year-old from the Special Effort mare Fiesty Spirit. Picov Cattle Co. bred the earner of $224,789.
