Cd Rowdy James qualified for the Grade 1 $957,483 Ruidoso Derby on Sunday.

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—MAY 27, 2019—Cd Rowdy James, a 3-year-old stakes-placed son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES, qualified for the Grade 1 $957,483 Ruidoso Derby on Sunday at Ruidoso Downs.

Conditioned by trainer Jimmy Guerra, Cd Rowdy James finished second in the fastest trial to 2018 All American Futurity(G1) winner Apocalypitcal Jess. His time of :20.035 seconds put the bay gelding into the top 10 from 94 3-year-olds that participated in 10 trial races.

Cd Rowdy James races for owner German Amaya. The lightly raced gelding has compiled a (7) 1-2-2 lifetime record and banked $20,370.  He was third in the West Texas Juvenile at Sunland Park in 2018.

Cynthia Dick bred Cd Rowdy James in New Mexico from the Valiant Hero mare Roughian. Paul Garcia had the riding call.

The horses with the 10-fastest times gained eligibility to return on Sunday June 8th for the Ruidoso Derby final.
