Ridden by jockey Alfredo Triana, Jr., Rappid finished second to third-fastest qualifier Tarish, posting the 8th fastest qualifying time of :17.763 seconds. Owner-trainer Matthew Eck saddled the son of leading stakes sire IVORY JAMES.
