AURORA, CO—AUGUST 20, 2018—Graded stakes-placed Dominate This broke best then handily defeated Gunnar Danner by one-length in the $10,000 Mile High Derby Consolation (not black type) Friday afternoon at Arapahoe Park. Jettin Ben finished half-a-length back to get third.

Ridden by jockey Alfredo Triana, Jr. Dominate This completed the 400 yards in :20.106 seconds to pick up the winner's purse valued at $6,000. Trainer Lorenzo Campuzano saddled the sorrel son of multiple stake sire DOMINYUN for owner Angel Villalobos-Hernandez.

Bred in Oklahoma by Brenda Reiswig, from the Valiant Hero mare Valiant Red Vixen, Dominate This has compiled a (14) 5-5-2 and banked $85,194.

Runner-up Gunnar Danner races for owner Norberto Morales-Perez and is conditioned by trainer Zachary Quezada. Jockey Mauro Salcedo was aboard the son of second-crop sire Brace For Bernal from the Chicks Dash Easy mare Chick With Speed. Bred by Ken and Reba George, Gunnar Danner earned $2,000 to boost his bankroll to $20,758.

Third-place finisher Jettin Ben, a Colorado-bred son of Easy Winning Jet, races for owner-trainer Mark Schultz. Pedro Gonzalez was up on the bay colt, out of Nikta Ben by Now I Know, to earn $1,000. Tom and Dana Lichlyter are the breeder.
