Ivory James 2-Year-Olds Dominates FQHRA Stallion Stakes Trials

HIALEAH, FL—DECEMBER 16, 2012—After two trials were contested at Hialeah Park Sunday afternoon for the FQHRA Stallion Stakes Futurity, #2 leading second crop sire IVORY JAMES had sired half the field.

The 10 qualifiers will return to the South Florida racetrack on December 30 and vie for the winner's share of a $85,250 purse while going 350 yards.

Rancho Dos Potrillos, LLC's James On The Run got his third consecutive win while posting the top qualifying mark of :17.815 seconds in the first trial. Brando Muniz saddled the earner of more than $26,000 to victory. Alex Baldillez, Jr., was aboard the Bobby Cox Texas-bred IVORY JAMES gelding from the Invisible Injun mare Injun On The Run.

Huntin Ivory won the second trial in :18.209 seconds to post the third fastest time for owner's Starlet Hunt and David Tolle. The homebred IVORY JAMES gelding is out of Baja Rosa, by Dean Miracle. Carlton Hunt trains with Brian Theriot getting the riding call. Huntin Ivory came into the race off a third place effort in the Markel Stakes.

IVORY JAMES also sired 4th qualifier Ryon James, 7th qualifier Zizzle, and 8th qualifier What Gives.
