Steinway Ivory Tops Bitterroot Futurity Trials at Les Bois Park

Steinway Ivory, under jockey Dirk Crane, sets the top qualifying time from nine trials on Saturday night at Les Bois Park for the Bitterroot Futurity.

BOISE, ID—JUNE 14, 2014—Four of the ten finalists to the Bitterroot Futurity on Saturday night at Les Bois Park, including fastest qualifier Steinway Ivory, made their previous start at Los Alamitos Race Course.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from the 83 two-year-olds who participated in nine trial races tonight, will return to the Boise Idaho racetrack Friday, June 27 and vie for the winner's portion of a $125,000-Guarnteed Bittterroot Futurity purse over a 350 yard course.

Coming off an impressive maiden win at Los Alamitos Race Course May 17, Steinway Ivory was much the best as he rolled to a 1˝ length win in the second trial, posting the top qualifying mark of :17.488 seconds, a 96 speed index.

Mark Hanson conditions the IVORY JAMES Utah-bred from the First Down Dash mare Christie Jo Dash. The two-time winner, from three starts, is owned by Hanson Racing LLC and Rob Evans. Blaine Bateman is the breeder.

IVORY JAMES also sired Getoutofthefastlane, who posted the 14th fastest time and earned an invitation to the $15,000-est. Bitterroot Juvenile Stakes. The homebred gelding races for Byron Goody and is trained by Bret Vickery. Saul Ramirez, Jr. was aboard.

The second 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday's trials will be preferred invites for the Bitterroot Juvenile, also scheduled for Friday, June 27. For that list CLICK HERE.
