Wave Of Chicks setting the fastest timefor the IdaBet Idaho Quarter Horse Futurity at Sand Downs.

IDAHO FALLS, ID—SEPTEMBER 16, 2012—Brett Matthews Wave The Chicks made his fourth visit to the winner's circle Sunday afternoon after posting the fastest qualifying time for the IdaBet Idaho Quarter Horse Futurity at Sandy Downs.

The Wave Carver gelding will return to the Idaho Falls racetrack on September 29 and face the nine other two-year-olds who recorded the fastest time following three trial races on Sunday's card.

The super consistent 2-year-old recorded a time of :16.085 seconds over the 300 yards to qualify to his third futurity this season. The Tony Hyde trainee has competed in stakes at Emmett and Oneida County Fairground this year. Charlie Bordelon bred Wave The Chicks in Texas from the Chicks Beduino mare Bay Or Gray Chick.

Shootaway was a wire-to-wire winner, under jockey Paul Greene, in the final trial to post the second fastest time of :16.087. Chad Giles trains the Heza Blue Rocket filly for owner/breeder Stan Young. It was the first win in six starts for the gray miss out of Shooters Touch, by Proudest Effort.
