Sf Hot Pass Defends Nevill Stakes Title In Dominating Fashion

Sf Hot Pass, under jockey Francisco Calderon, defends his title in the $20,000 Nevill Stakes Friday night at Lone Star Park.


GRAND PRARIE, TX—OCTOBER 4, 2019—With a powerful finish under jockey Francisco Calderon, multiple stakes winner Sf Hot Pass defeated Mighty Corona Jr by 1-¼ lengths to win the $20,000 Nevill Stakes at Lone Star Park for the second consecutive time.

Shannon “Stormy” Fisher’s Sf Hot Pass joins just two other horses to win back-to-back years in the 22nd year history of the Nevill Stakes. First Klas Fred was the first to accomplish the feat in 2011-2012 and most recently it was Rc Me Leaving You who won in 2016-2017.

The 6-year-old gelding completed the 350 yards in a quick :17.540 clocking, into a 14 mph crosswind, to equal 99 speed index on a fast track. Trainer Leon Bard saddled the son of multiple stakes sire
