OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 9, 2021—Instygator, as a 2-year-old, came within a neck of winning the All American Futurity last year. Therefore, it was no surprise when he put up the fastest qualifying time for the Grade 2, $333,010 Heritage Place Derby in trials Sunday night at Remington Park.

The gelded son of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES, out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Popping, lost to the 2020 AQHA World Champion Whistle Stop Cafe by a neck in the Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity on Sept. 7 last year. He looked every bit as fast Sunday night.
